The East and the Central East Regions

The East Region is defined as the electoral district of East Iceland, extending from Langanes in the north to Skeiðarársandur in the south. The Central East Region is defined as the region extending from Fljótsdalshérad in the north to Breiddalur in south. It excludes four municipalities in the East Region: Bakkafjörður, Vopnafjörður, Djúpivogur and Hornafjörður (see map below).
